🌍 Earth Day 2025: What It Means to Us

At FPL Signs, Earth Day is more than a date—it’s a reminder of the kind of business we aim to be.

We’re proud to be known for our signage, but just as proud of how we do things behind the scenes. For us, sustainability is about making better choices day to day, and building those choices into everything we do. That means thinking about materials, energy, transport, people, and processes.

We’re proud of where we are—and even more excited about where we’re going!

♻️ What We’re Doing Right Now

Sustainability sits at the heart of how we work—from the ground up. We’ve introduced smarter materials, cleaner energy use, and more responsible systems that allow us to work better, with less waste.

We're pleased to offer eco-friendlier material options like Swedboard, a lightweight, fully recyclable board, and Foamalite, a more sustainable alternative for rigid signage.

Our approach to sustainability goes beyond materials. Behind the scenes we’re introducing signage specific software to cut down on paper use, streamline jobs, and reduce waste in the process.

We’ve already made strong progress in transitioning parts of our fleet to electric vehicles and upgrading our warehouse and office spaces to improve energy efficiency across the board. Even small things like our communal company garden have become a way to help bring our values into the everyday.

Sustainability runs through every part of how we work, from the tools we use to the energy that powers us. Through our partnership with HP, we use energy-efficient print technology that reduces waste without compromising on quality. Over 70% of our printed output is now recyclable, and we’re continuing to use solar energy to power more of our production in the future.

We’ve also strengthened our commitment to reducing landfill waste, and we’re actively exploring waste services that turn recyclable signage offcuts into brand-new items—giving waste a second life where possible.

At FPL Signs we’re proud to hold ISO 14001 environmental accreditation, which recognises the systems we’ve put in place to manage and reduce our environmental impact across the business. Alongside that, our partnership with Ecologi helps take things one step further—supporting global reforestation and carbon reduction projects that complement our internal efforts and contribute to long-term environmental change.

Sustainability isn’t a finish line—it’s an ongoing part of how we grow.

Looking ahead, we’re focused on:

• Expanding our use of solar power to drive more of our daily operations

• Reducing our CO₂ output by minimising waste and improving efficiency across our processes

• Partnering with organisations that help us give waste a second life

• Strengthening our social values across everything we do—from how we source, to how we deliver

Our goal is simple: keep making progress and do business in a way we can be proud of.
